When Jan Wingo recalls Dianne Ely asking her to accept a leadership role in the ministry of the Caring People, Jan says, "The Holy Spirit was touching me. My heart was pounding. I knew instantly that this was something I had to do."
As Springfield City Chairman, Jan spends much of her time overseeing the Care Groups in Springfield. She leads monthly "Recharger" meetings with Care Group Leaders and personally visits each group monthly. She helps Caring Women overcome obstacles and keep their focus on the mission of the Caring People, to create an awareness of and a desire to meet Jesus.
Jan describes her responsibilities very simply, "I hold people together." She leads monthly meetings of the Administrative Team, a team she assembled to recruit more Caring Women and more Single Moms. Jan's strengths are her abilities to encourage others, to form and maintain strong friendships, and to meet challenges. "I'm too stubborn to quit," she says.
