Congratulations to Springfield, Mo. TCP chair Jan Wingo for being nominated for the GIFT OF TIME awards honoring outstanding volunteers. Jan has served as the Springfield City Chair for The Caring People for 7 years. In that capacity she has cared for and mentored both Single Moms struggling to find their place in this world, and other caring women serving under her as volunteers.  Jan  leads an amazing team of over 60 women in a variety of roles all striving to bring Single Moms unconditional love and support.  The “Springfield Model” as we have come to call it, is in fact the blueprint we will use to grow the ministry worldwide. It’s a true testament to the strength of her leadership and the depth of her heart.  Quite simply, she is a sacrificial servant and never seeks adoration or praise for her work but instead serves silently in the shadows.  Her perseverance in mentoring our moms and volunteers results in changed lives.  She is often the first voice the moms hear when seeking out help from The Caring People  in the Springfield area. She represents the totality of our mission….to love Single Moms unconditionally with love and support.  She truly represents the love of Jesus and all who experience her “gift of time” are better for it. It’s not uncommon for her to take calls night and day from moms who are seeking love and support.  On any given day she is visiting multiple care groups, leading an administrative team of volunteers, reaching out to moms, or meeting with the prayer team to pray for the mom’s needs.  She changes hats easily and steps up to lead in each new challenge as we seek to grow the mission. As Charles Colton penned,   “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.”   Because of her dedication to the leaders and mom’s, we have been able to open 6 new markets in the past year by imitating her leadership.   We refer time and time again to her framework of success and we would not be here today without her passion to our mission.
