An Interview with Crave Food Truck

The Caring PeopleAnnouncements

Crave Food Truck of Hollister, Mo., will be on hand Saturday, June 20th at Patient PAL’s 7TH Annual Dash to the Splash 5k Run/Walk in Branson, Mo.

We recently sat down with April Mashburn of Crave Food Truck for an interview.

She was introduced to the Caring People through a frequent customer, Brian, husband to Sheila, our amazing Administrative Assistant. Don’t you love the power of building relationships? You never know whom you’ll meet.

Thanks, April, for stepping away from the grill for a few moments to answer our questions.

TCP: Why is being a part of this organization and playing such an important role in Dash to the Splash important to you?

APRIL: The food truck is constant work…so our very little off time is cherished. For that reason we usually decline events on the weekends. For us to be involved it has to be something that matters – something that makes a difference. When Sheila told me about the Caring People and what you do to help Single Moms, I immediately wanted to be involved.

TCP: How did Crave Food Truck get started?

APRIL: I am a trained chef with a catering background. We moved here from Alabama and I noticed that there were no trucks in the area. My husband decided it wasn’t fair to keep all my cooking talent to himself and we had a light bulb moment – “Hey, let’s open a food truck!”

TCP: Do you have a favorite meal you make?

APRIL: I don’t have a favorite. I enjoy cooking any type of cuisine, as long as I am starting with fresh quality ingredients.

She’s still tweaking the menu, but here’s a little breakfast hint – homemade granola.

Are you hungry yet? If you can’t wait until race day to taste April’s masterpieces, you can find her and the Crave Food Truck at 135 Southtown Blvd. in Hollister, Mo., across from Country Mart and Walgreens, Monday through Friday from 11 am – 2 pm.

Lace up your shoes and bring your appetite for Dash to the Splash at Dewey Short Visitor’s Center at Table Rock Dam, Saturday, June 20th in Branson.
