Mercy is a leader in the health care industry. They serve millions annually, including 35 acute care hospitals, four heart hospitals, two children’s hospitals, three rehab hospitals and two orthopedic hospitals, nearly 700 clinic and outpatient facilities, 40,000 co-workers and more than 2,000 Mercy Clinic physicians in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. Mercy also has outreach ministries in Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.
Here are some interesting facts about Mercy:
- The first Mercy hospital in the world opened in Pittsburgh, Pa., in 1857
- MyMercy, a free service, allows patients to connect online with their doctors, plus see medical information, view test results, renew prescriptions, schedule appointments and e-visits using a personal computer, tablet or smartphone.
- Mercy SafeWatch, the largest single hub electronic ICU in the nation, provides 24-hour vigilance to critically ill patients. Alongside on-site medical teams, high-definition cameras and sophisticated technology allow specialized ICU physicians and nurses in a central command center to expand each patient’s care team.
- In 2014, they were named “Most Wired” health care organization by the American Hospital Association – the eleventh time since 1999.
We’re grateful for caring and compassionate neighbors, Mercy.
